I was thinking it was kind of strange that it is a 2002 model, but is described as "brand new". Has anyone ever used a Highway 1 Strat, or heard anything about them? And if you have, is there anything that I should know? And anyway, the seller would have to be in Auckland for me to go and try out the actual guitar. I would also like to consider my options without the pressure of the seller. I know the obvious option would be to go into a store and play a Highway 1 Strat, but I only consider myself an intermediate player, and I would like to get some good advice from the experts beforehand. Also, what will it sound like on my Mesa Boogie Single Rectifier, usually played with an Epiphone Les Paul? What do they sound like? I don't want to end up with a guitar more suited for blues or jazz for example, as I will be playing rock. The second picture is not actually the original photo, as it was too dark, so I have brightened the photo which improved it slightly:Īs you can see, the finish is great, and the guitar is in mint condition.īut before I consider buying this guitar, I would like to know a few things first:įirstly, how does the Highway 1 Strat compare to other Strat models? For example, the same guy is selling a 1999 Fender USA Fat Strat. Here are some pictures that the guy has taken of the guitar and the case. If you look at the left handed model, you will find it has the same finish as the guitar I want to buy.Īnd here is a link to reviews of the Highway 1 Strat on Harmony Central. Here is a link to the guitar on the official Fender site. The body is a beautiful blue colour with woodgrain visible through the paint (finish is Saphire Blue Transparent).
It is apparently brand new, and he is selling it with an SKB style rectangular hard case, Fender strap, Whammy bar & guarantee/documentation. I have recently found a guy selling a 2002 Fender USA Highway 1 Stratocaster on the internet.
